Wenxuechen: A Brief Introduction

Wenxuechen is a magazine targeted at the Chinese expatriate community abroad. It features news, art, and entertainment. Its founder, Xu Xing, is a writer, cultural scholar, and independent documentary filmmaker. He was born in Zhidan county in northern Shanxi province. After serving in the 21st Corps of Lanzhou Military Region, he returned to Beijing and began writing within six months.

Cong Fang Wen Xue Cheng
Cong Fang Wen Xu Cheng was an important figure in the early history of China. He was a military officer and the son of an army officer. The father was ill for ten years, and he helped care for his father. He later fasted for five days following his father’s death and became the county magistrate of Xicheng County in modern Luliang, Shanxi province.
In the year 648, Fang was assigned to edit the official history of the Jin dynasty. Fang was the lead editor of the Book of Jin. The book was finished in the Yuhua Palace, near modern-day Tongchuan in Shaanxi. In 649, Emperor Taizong left Fang in charge of the city of Chang’an.
Emperor Taizong visited Fang’s mansion and had him accompany him on a wagon to the palace. By 647, Emperor Taizong had established Fang as a key figure in his decision-making. He was given the title of Duke of Wei. He was briefly removed from his position when his sister, Empress Zhangsun, died.
Li Shimin and his brother Li Jiancheng were locked in intense rivalry. Li Jiancheng feared Fang and Du because of their strategic abilities. Li Yuanji falsely accused Du and Fang. Song Binbin, a former vice-principal at Beijing Normal University and a participant in the Cultural Revolution has sought to create a narrative about the death of Bian Zhong Yun, a student at Da Niu Yuan High School. He organized a symposium with classmates from 1966 to explain the circumstances surrounding Bian Zhong Yun’s death.
